Touch fo the Wolf by Karen Whiddon

I love any book that has paranormal aspects, wolves an shape shifters! This book has all three Darlings!

Of course, my chauffer Jose can be a wolf in bed, but that’s an entirely different matter!

Shape shifter Lucaine Herrick arrives in a small Texas town in search of a myth. A Halfling healer who has no idea that werewolf blood runs in her veins. She has the power to heal shifters with one touch. Lucaine didn’t believe that she existed but when he finds her he is even more shocked to find that she is his mate.

Samantha Warren is frightened at first when Luc reveals that he is a werewolf. She is even more shocked when he tells her that she is part wolf; that pack blood runs and leaps inside her. Can she trust someone she thinks is mad?

They have other problems however. Something, or someone, is stalking Samantha in the shadows and he wants her for himself. Can Luc protect Samantha, get her to heal an ailing child werewolf and protect his ice cold heart?

When Samantha is kidnapped and taken from him, Luc knows that nothing else matters but getting his mate back safely. But will she be dead when he finds her?

I liked this wolfish tale. It took a while to get started but once it did the plot had more twists and turns than my panties after a night of dancing! Luc was dangerous and brooding and Samantha was a wonderful heroine. She was strong willed and stood her own ground.

All in all, a lovely tale. Not my favourite werewolf book, but by no means the worst! This one gets three out of five pearls Darlings and I’m hoping the next Pack book is better and more action packed!

Till the next steamy read, Darlings!

Raintree: Sanctuary by Beverly Barton

Raintree: Sanctuary

Things are better in threes Darlings!

This is true with chocolate, money and jewellery, the perfect trilogy. My second husband often gifted me with such a trilogy though what I would have preferred is a trilogy of foreplay, steamy sex and cuddling but who am I to complain with a blue box from Tiffany’s?

I have waited for the ending of The Raintree Trilogy for three months now and I was not disappointed! It seems the books just get better as you go along. Inferno was okay, Haunted was fantastic and Sanctuary was incredible. This book was hotter than hot, Darlings!

War is coming to the Raintree clan! The evil Ansara, their sworn enemy, is about to attack and Mercy Raintree is in danger. She hides a terrible secret and fears the Danir, or leader, of the Ansara clan. Judah Ansara stole her heart years ago and she has loved no other since then.

What is she to do, therefore, when he shows up to protect her?

The two try to fight their growing attraction but are forced to come together when the battle starts on the Solstice. Aided by her brothers Gideo and Dante, Mercy is able to protect her people. But can she protect herself and her daughter from the man she fears and loves at the same time?

Will Mercy be able to protect the Sanctuary and what will become of the Ansara and the Raintree after the war? What strange roll does her daughter play? And will Judah ever love her again?

Oh, Darlings, what a conclusion! There is everything you could hope for in this novel: it tied up all the story lines in the previous two books, all the characters from the trilogy were present and mysteries were answered. Most of all, we are witness to a love of the ages. Mercy and Judah are meant to be together and this book simmered with their heat.

I didn’t want this book to end, Darlings! I now have to go back to the beginning and read the series one more time. This one gets five out of five pearls, Darlings! I was left breathless! That normally happens after really good sex, but it can happen after a good book too!

Unforgiven by Lindsay McKenna

There is just something so sexy about shape shifters, Darlings! Especially when they are tall, dark and handsome men. I wish I could find a tall dark and handsome man. All I can find is my chauffeur Darlings! He’s dark and handsome but he’s only four foot nine! His face is right in my cleavage Darlings! He doesn’t seem to mind though.

Reno Manchahi is a shape shifter, able to turn from a man to a leopard! He is in prison after the death of his wife and daughter and is given one chance to get out of jail. It will mean killing someone else but Reno looks at killing as just a job. He will do anything to be free.

He is sent to Ecuador to eliminate El Espanto, a mysterious figure who helps the poor. Things go crazy when Reno discovers that El Espanto is actually a wealthy lady by the name of Calen Hernandez. The two are instantly attracted to each other but how can they love each other when Reno is sworn to kill her?

Things become even more bizarre when they both realize they’re shape shifters and Warriors of the Light. Letting his love for Calen free, they go on a quest to find a mysterious necklace. The love between them blooms to firey heights and the danger they are in escalates as the US government tracks them.

But what is the mysterious necklace? What do the Warriors of the Light do? They will have to depend on their love and their shape shifting abilities if they are to survive!

I LOVED this book Darlings! It had passion, sex, passion and more sex! It had shape shifting, sub plots, good people triumphing over the bad! Oh, Darlings! If I could get my hands on Reno, I wouldn’t leave my bedroom for weeks on end!

The plot is lightning fast and I didn’t get bored at all. The characters are well drawn, likeable and intelligent and the whole element of the paranormal adds so much mystery to the novel!

Add to that the fact that Unforgiven is the first in a new miniseries and I’m in heaven Darlings! I have to give this novel four out of five pearls only because the end leaves you guessing. But what an ending it was!

Till the next hot read Darlings!

Blood Red by Heather Graham

Oh, I love a good vampire tale, Darlings!

There is just something that is so erotic about a man running his teeth along your collarbone, wanting to take a bite out of you.

Except of course if you were my second husband, Hector. He had dentures, Darlings! Every time he tried to kiss me on the neck, his teeth would fall out. There is nothing sexy about slobber Darlings!

But thankfully, Blood Red is fantastic, Darlings! Lauren Crow goes to New Orleans with her friends Heidi and Deanna to enjoy a bachlorette weekend. But it goes horribly wrong for Lauren when a fortune teller forecasts her doom!

Lauren is being hunted by two men: Mark Davidson, a vampire hunter. Lauren looks like his first love, Katie, killed at the hands of Stephan. Stephan is also hunting Lauren and wants her for himself. Or, more specifically, her blood.

Fighting what she does not believe is real, Lauren must learn to believe in what she cannot touch. She must also learn to trust Mark Davidson if she is to stay alive. There is a growing passion that is mounting between them and Lauren must decide if her heart is ready for him. For only Mark can protect her from Stephan.

Running from a vampire who desperately wants what runs in her veins, finding love and passion in the arms of a sexy and ravishing vampire hunter…sometimes a girls work is never done….
I love every glorious moment of this book, Darlings! It made me want to show more cleavage and lie in wait for my own sexy vampire hunter. Except for the fact that all I have waiting for me is my driver, Jose, who just doesn't do a thing for me, Darlings!

Heather Graham has written a masterpiece of vampire fiction and I gulped this one down in two days flat. It's funny, heart-warming and so very sexy Darlings! I give Blood Red five out of five pearls, Darlings! Anything less would be criminal!

If you're looking for a hot, fantastic read this summer, this is the one, Darlings! Until the next sexy, hot read!

Playing With Fire

Darlings, I love a good fire.

It’s good to roast marshmallows on and it sets the right romantic mood for a sexy date. Except when your date gets burnt by a spark from said fire and the spark happens to have landed on Mr. Winky, thus ending the night’s entertainment prematurely and robbing me of a night of hot, sweaty sex. But I digress.

Reading the back of this book, Playing With Fire sounded like a fantastic read. Unfortunately, Darlings, it was anything but fantastic. It was much like an annoying man in a bar that won’t leave you alone. You feel obligated to finish your date out of pity but really all you want to do is go home and eat a tub of ice cream.

Bell Jamison has always had tough luck with jobs. She’s been a waitress, a dancer, a maid, a telemarketer and everything in between often working managing to work two jobs at once to support her dad who resides in a nursing home. Regrettably, she also loses as many jobs as she gets.

Her present job at Coffee Utopia is no different. Late for work she rushes in to start her shift and a man in a white lab coat rushes in, mumbling nonsense. Belle goes off to contact the police and when she returns, strange men are in the café holding everyone prisoner.

They are looking for a formula but no one knows anything. Belle drinks her latte, waiting for the authorities to arrive and finally is able to go home where she falls ill. She wakes two days later with a strange man standing above her bed.

Roman informs her that she has drunk a chemical potion that was put in her latte and she now has the power to control the elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water are all hers to command. Roman gives her an ultimatum: join him and fight those who would use her powers for evil, or he’ll kill her.

Belle is in for the fight of her life as she battles bad guys, learns to use her new power and fight the growing attraction she has for Rome. Can she trust a man who wants to kill her? But how can she not when he is the only thing keeping her alive?

Sounds good, doesn’t it, Darlings? You would think so but Playing With Fire reminded me of a man with a big car: all flash, no substance. The book just didn’t live up to the cover blurb or the flashy cover itself! So disappointing Darlings!

I will try another book from this author but only to see if this one was a fluke. I can only give this one two out of five pearls Darlings!

Let’s hope the next hot read is a better one!

Haunted by Linda Winstead Jones

Oh, Darlings! There’s nothing this Dame enjoys more than sex, love and a bit of magic. But I’ve never been so enthralled with paranormal romance as I have been with the Raintree Trilogy!

The Raintree are more than human, Darlings. Each has a power all their own. In the first book in this hotter than hot trilogy, Dante Raintree can control fire. Now, in the second, Gideon Raintree can control electricity and he can talk to spirits!

Where his brother Dante is all fire and brimstone, Gideon is like a tall, muscled drink of water! Gideon is a police officer and is tracking a deadly serial killer. His new partner, Hope, gets on his nerves because he is used to working alone. He can talk to spirits easier that way. But what bothers him most is the attraction he feels for her.

When a serial killer starts killing people, Gideon is concerned. When his cousin’s roommate is killed in error instead of his cousin, Gideon realizes that he’s in trouble. Someone is targeting the Raintree clan and the only people who would do that are the Ansara, their sworn enemies.

Now Gideon must find out who wants them dead, protect Hope who he is beginning to love all in a race against time. Before their time runs out…

Oh, Darlings! If only Gidieon Raintree really existed! I would ask him to contact my fourth husband to ask that stupid man where he put my black pearls! I’ve been looking for them everywhere Darlings and can’t find them! Well, that and I’d ask him the code to the safe behind my portrait. I can’t remember the combination, Darlings! It’s so hard to remember numbers when there are so many sexy men to read about.

Raintree: Haunted was so much better than the first novel. While Linda Howard did an okay job of setting things up, Linda Winstead-Jones takes things a step further and gives us a story we can sink our teeth into. Gideon is far less annoying than Dante and is a far better hero. The love he feels for Hope leaps off the page and you can really believe that these two will have a love for the ages.

But again, there’s no real ending, Darlings! It ends all too soon! Like far too many dates I’ve had lately. As soon as I ask the man I’m with to pay for dinner its excuses, excuses, excuses! I know this is a trilogy, Darlings, but would an ending be too much to ask for? It’s like the promise of sex with no foreplay; just so unappetizing!

Oh, but don’t despair Darlings! I give Raintree: Haunted four out of five pearls! It’s an excellent read and a wonderful book. Now I just have to be patient and work my way through Raintree: Sanctuary to find out how the whole mystery ends!

Till the next hot read, Darlings!

Let Us Play

Oh Darlings! There is nothing that goes better with love than the paranormal! Well, really, there's nothing I like better than a naked man covered in chocolate and throwing money at me, but that's a whole other blog, Darlings!

Now, I know that you've come to expect sexy recommendations from me Darlings, but Let Us Play is a whole other kettle of fish. Or, I should say men. In any case, there is little to no sex in this book, Darlings. That doesn't make it any less romantic!

In Let Us Play, we meet Kaya Moore, a women with paranormal abilities that leads a band of rebels (The Let Us Play Organization) against those (People Against Rock n’ Roll)who wish to wipe Rock n’ Roll music from the world forever! Imagine it, Darlings! No more Rock n’ Roll? Thankfully Kaya and her band of rebels leap in to save the day!

Oh, Darlings, was this book ever fantastic. It had thrills, chills and was like a roller coaster ride from start to finish. There wasn’t much of a love story to it (which means there was not enough sex for this Dame’s appetite!) but there was just enough to leave me touched and emotional.

Emotional, Darlings! I’m never emotional! The last time I got emotional was when a sales clerk told me my Visa was maxed out and I couldn’t have the Gucci bag I so desperately needed because it complimented my eyes! And then the doorman, a hunky Greek God, told me he was gay after I finished hitting on him! Gay! I ask you, why are all the sexy men taken or Gay, Darlings? There is just no fairness in the world!

But even with the absence of sweaty monkey sex, Let Us Play gem, Darlings, a pure delight that made me laugh, cry and cheer. I have to give this one four out of five pearls, Darlings, because it was fabulous!

Read it and be delighted, Darlings! Until the next fantastic read!

Under the Microscope

Hello my Darlings!

Wouldn’t it be lovely if there was a drug that could stimulate women? Like Viagra? Strong enough for a man but made for a woman? Well that’s just what one woman creates in this sexy medical thriller!

Raine has created the ultimate woman’s drug: Thriller. Designed to jump start a woman’s failing libido (and really, Darlings, is it any wonder that a woman’s libido fails. I mean, have you SEEN a man’s penis? Some of them look like chicken necks!) Thriller is destined to become the next big drug.

Until four women die. Now Raine must hire an investigator to find out who killed the woman before the FDA shuts her down. Raine knows that her drug didn’t do it and that she’s being set up for the crime. Turning to the only man she can think of, Raine runs to Max Vanesk.

After leaving him three years ago, Raine knows that Max may have trouble trusting her. But they will both have to overcome their issues as someone wants them dead. Someone knows that Raine and Max are investigating the deaths of the four women and someone wants them quiet. After her office blows up, Raine knows she is in a fight for her life; and her heart….

Oh Darlings! What a fantastic, wonderful read. It’s been so long since I’ve read such a great romance that was also a fantastic suspense novel! And the sex! Oh, Darlings! It was so hot I had to blow on my fingers to cool them off. Then I went in search of my chauffeur, a delightful man named Jose who only speaks the language of l’amour!

There is passion here, there is heat, there is romance and there is mystery! What more can a woman ask for? I loved how Max and Raine finally let themselves go and let their hearts speak to each other. And of course, the fact that Max was built and hung didn’t hurt either.

I give this one four out of five Darlings! Perfect for a hot, sexy afternoon!

Till the next hot toddy!

The Dark Gate

Oh Darlings!

It’s been so long since I’ve read such a fantastic book! I love books that have passion, sex, a plot and sex and great characters that have lots of sex. Oh, Darlings, I have sex on the brain, but don’t let that distract you from this amazing new novel!

Jack is a man with secrets. Able to hear voices inside his head, he thinks he is going mad. He knows that he may indeed go insane, succumbing to the same illness that took his father. He meets Larsen, a talented lawyer who has her own incredible secret: she sees visions of other people’s deaths!

The two come together to find out just who is raping girls and leaving no trace. The killer is so thorough that not even the victims remember him. Larsen and Jack think they are after a mortal, but they soon find out that they are really hunting an Eresi, one of the Fey.

Larsen and Jack must fight an unknown foe and give into the passion that comes to life inside them if they are to make it through to the end alive. But they will have to first trust each other and trust their gifts….

Oh, Darlings, what a book this was! I was pulled in from the first page and it never let me go! The characters are well drawn and what I wouldn’t give to get my hands on the incredibly sexy Jack! The best news, Darlings, is that it’s going to be a series! This means I can fill my fantasies with Jack in the future!

The only thing that kept bugging me was that Larsen kept having visions and once it was during a hot sex scene! Nothing would make me go limp and dry like seeing someone kick the bucket! Larsen must have been really horny or have stronger will power. Although this Dame has slept with some men who could qualify as the living dead, I take my hat off to her!

I give this book five out of five pearls, Darlings! Simply fantastic!

Till the next hot read Darlings!

Familiar Double

I have been a cat lover for as long as I can remember, Darlings! So how wonderful was it for me to find Familiar Double by Caroline Burnes, starring Familiar, a black cat who solves mysteries! How cute and precious is that, Darlings? Maybe I can get him to do my house cleaning too!

Familiar is in Hollywood and finds himself the stunt double for a cat in the movie Midnight Magic. He works alongside Nicole, a beautiful stuntwoman and Jax, the stunt co-ordinator. From the very beginning, sparks fly between the unlikely pair!

But then disaster strikes! An ear ring goes missing from the leading ladies trailer and Nicole is accused of the theft! It seems her father may have had a hand in stealing a large jewel, the Eye of Isis, twenty years ago. He always claimed his innocence and now his daughter may suffer because of his fate!

Not if Familiar and the handsome, ravishing Jax have anything to do about it. Jax is a Texan and in Texas they stand by their women. Jax bails her out of jail and promises to help her find who did steal the jewel. But soon, the two find themselves unravelling a twenty year old mystery with the help of that frisky feline, Familiar!

But there someone on their heels. Someone wants them dead at any cost.

Oh, Darlings, what a fantastic book! I wasn’t sure I would like a cat who solved crimes, but he made me laugh and charmed me from the very first page. The only problem I had with this book was that it had no sex! Not one single hot sweaty monkey sex scene! This left me feeling kind of randy and I had to have a go with my gardener. He’s sixty if he’s a day and I know he doesn’t make much money as I pay him Darlings!

But I still give this book three out of five pearls because the love story if wonderful and the mystery is fantastic. Read on, Darlings and become familiar with this feline series!
